The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe, North Norfolk has been names Editor’s Choice, Seaside for the second year running in the Good Hotel Guide 2016 published today. This award sits alongside the Good Hotel Guide ‘César’ already awarded in 2014.
The Good Hotel Guide is renowned as being the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain and Ireland, entry into the guide is based on visits by ‘anonymous’ inspectors and guests experiences.
‘The White Horse is a lovely hotel with a relaxing ambience, friendly staff and good management. The modern cooking of the freshest ingredients - perhaps Cyril’s mussels harvested at the bottom of the garden - is delicious. There is a happy atmosphere in the bar and restaurant; the bedrooms have an appropriate seaside feel. A visit to a hotel should be a special occasion’ said Desmond Balmer Editor of The Good Hotel Guide.
Christina Boyle, General Manager at The White Horse said ‘It is a huge honour to be named Editor’s choice for the second year running by The Good Hotel Guide 2016. We have an amazing team of dedicated staff at The White Horse who love to welcome guests to the area, and this award is for them. I can’t thank them enough for their contribution and also thank our guests who submit reports to The Good Hotel Guide. Norfolk has an abundance of wonderful things to showcase, fresh produce, great people and genuine hospitality and we love showing it off.
The White Horse is a family run establishment and part of the ACInns group (www.acinns.co.uk) which has five other hospitality establishments in the eastern region. The White Horse is situated in Brancaster Staithe a picturesque typically Norfolk village overlooking stunning tidal salt marshes and estuaries with views to Scolt Head Island and the sea beyond. ‘Seasonal and local’ is the ethos of Fran Hartshorne, head chef.
‘There are lots of ingredients needed to run a successful hotel, all are academic without the catalyst of good staff and this award is all about our staff, well done. It’s the great team we have at The White Horse that makes it work. We strive to make customers visits special, it’s the whole experience that makes The White Horse so unique’ said Cliff Nye, Chairman ACInns Ltd.
